ACT36 For a jar of stories
encounters of different realities for an exchange of stories
Saluzzo and Turin prison, IT
artists: Nagi Tartamella and Florian Lasne
FOR A JAR OF STORIES is a triple performance by a group of inmates, handicapped people and artists Nagi Tartamella and Florian Lasne. It is about encounters of different realities for an exchange of stories. FOR A JAR OF STORIES is bridging the world inside the walls and the world of civil society outside by presenting three performances in the prison to inmates, prison staff and an audience from outside.
Two groups of inmates together with Nagi Tartamella and Florian Lasne prepared a public event in Saluzzo and Torino prison. A company of disabled boys and girls, a challenged group in our society, having passion for dance and theatre, interacted with inmates provoking a feeling of acceptance, protection, trust and respect. The third event provided a performance by Racines de Poches (France) consisting of the same dance and theatre artists with whom the prisoners have worked during the staging of their performance.
They all found ways and forms to connect, to perform and to involve a mixed group of audiences: co-inmates, prison staff, families, citizens, disabled people. The result is a triple performance for multiple audiences intra and extra muros. A deep experience and eye-opener for all.
